Edi Rama is a politician, artist and publicist.  He is currently the Chairman of the Socialist Party of Albania and the Mayor of Tirana, the Capital city of Albania.

On October 2000, Edi Rama ran for Local Elections of Tirana as an independent candidate supported by the Socialist Party of Albania and gathered 57% of the votes. He was elected the Mayor of Tirana for the first mandate.

He attended master classes in international criminal law of the University of Catania, Sicily, Italia. He holds a PhD in international criminal law of the University of Bucharest and is also a 2002 graduate of Romania's National Defence College.
